Join ETLO in Celebrating Digital Learning Day on February 6th! posted 1/21/13 In celebration of Digital Learning Day on Wednesday, February 6th, EdTech Leaders Online (ETLO) will be a part of two exciting events. After the live chat, ETLO is hosting an online conversation from 4:00 – 5:00 PM ET. This live, interactive webinar event will include a panel of K–12 teachers, students and members of the ETLO staff discussing how teaching and learning with digital resources can create authentic motivation and engagement. Members of the panel, moderated by ETLO's Kirsten Peterson, will share concrete examples from their own online, blended and face-to-face experiences to illustrate the types of environments, tools and strategies that create excitement and motivation. Intel® Teach Partners with ETLO to Build Online Professional Development Programs across the United States posted 12/7/12 When Intel was looking to partner with experts in online professional development to redesign their successful Intel Teach Elements online professional development courses and prepare online facilitators to deliver these courses to educators in their states, Intel turned to ETLO. Since 2011, ETLO has collaborated with Intel to adapt the Intel Teach Elements courses for effective implementation online in a facilitated, learning community model and align the courses to the Common Core State Standards. ETLO has also provided online facilitator training courses for educators in 22 “Intel Teach Affiliate” states to prepare them as online facilitators and enable participating states to have their own online professional development program. The newly released Intel® Teach Elements case study highlights the success of this partnership and stories from state implementation of Intel Teach Elements courses across the country. Intel Teach Elements courses are available free of charge to state or regional agencies, districts, schools, colleges and universities. The courses address key topics important to educators including: Project-Based Approaches, Assessment of 21st Century Skills, Educational Leadership, Thinking Critically with Data, Collaboration, Science Inquiry, and Designing Blended Learning. ETLO Partners with Community Colleges on Contextualized Curriculum Modules posted 10/26/12 Working with the Massachusetts Community College Workforce Development Transformation Agenda (MCCWDTA), a consortium of the 15 community colleges in Massachusetts, members of EdTech Leaders Online and other EDC programs has partnered with community college faculty, adult basic education instructors, and industry advisors to develop a set of 24 curriculum modules that link academic skills to realistic scenarios in the health care, advanced manufacturing, and information technology fields.
