EDC Particpates in Workforce Development Collaboration

Erin Earnst will be discussing EDC’s work with the Massachusetts Department of Education's Adult and Community Learning Services unit during the Workforce Innovation and Oppotunity Act (WIOA) Partner Convening on December 6 in Westford, Massachusetts. This meeting brings together leaders in education, labor, and health and human services to collaborate on ways to form partnerships to implement Governor Baker's vision for transforming Massachusetts' workforce system to build a skilled workforce that meets business needs.

EDC leads the Massachusetts Department of Education's System for Adult Basic Education Support (SABES) Communication Center. SABES provides innovative online, blended, and face-to-face professional development and support for adult basic education (ABE) educators. EDC developed the SABES website (www.sabes.org) and calendar registration system (www.sabes.org/calendar) used statewide for professional development offerings and manages the communication needs of SABES.
