Prerna
Sood is a Technology Specialist for EdTech Leaders® Online (ETLO), EDC’s capacity building online professional development program for school districts, state departments of education, regional education service providers and teacher training institutions. She works predominantly as the tecnology support person for the project and also as the liasion for Blackboard. A major part of her role is to constantly research, develop and implement new technological solutions to streamline the processes of the project. She is also invloved in a project funded by the Japan Foundation that promotes cross cultural understanding through the use of picture boks for elementary grades in Japan. Through her Certificate in Technologies program at the Harvard Extension School, she worked as an instructional
technology intern at the Driscoll School (K-8) in Brookline, where she designed
a Professional Development intervention to expand the use of the iBook carts
in the classroom. Prerna also has formal training and background in architecture,
including graduate work in design technology at MIT. While she was at MIT,
she actively pursued her interest in issues related to technology, youth
and community development, and worked with the Computer Clubhouse Network
in India and Boston.
