Liz Farmer is a Project Director in EDC's Center for Online Professional Education where she manages post-training support and consulting for educational organizations as they implement local online professional development and virtual school programs through the EdTech Leaders Online project. Liz is an experienced online facilitator and course developer who has provided training for hundreds of educators to facilitate and design their own online courses. She is also a core member of the leadership team for the E-Learning for Educators initiative, a federally-funded eight-state consortium to build state level online professional development programs in Alabama, Delaware, New Hampshire, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, New Hampshire and West Virginia. Additionally, Liz manages three Title IID grants for high needs districts in Massachusetts focused on developing online courses in math and science, and training local educators to facilitate these courses for their colleagues.
Before joining ETLO, Liz worked on an EDC project focused on building the professional capacity of teachers to use research-based assessment strategies in their classrooms. Her past work experience also includes managing several projects for the Learning Lab at Lesley University, producing educational software and teaching English and Italian courses for children and adults. Liz holds a B.A. in Educational Studies and Italian Studies from Brown University and an Ed.M. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
